I think this is a great article, and to include the COMPTIA certs is a good thing, as they probably dont get the respect from people they deserve, and hopefully a few newbies will see this and thing, yes A+ is a great foundation.

Good commentary on the others as well, a bit predictable that half would be Microsoft but thats where the demand is.

Well it doesn't say technical only and they have got PMP in there.

They could have lumped the MS stuff together to expand the list more or make it a top twenty.

Well I think any list will have the authors own views.

It would be interesting to see any statistics that are out there for what certifications that job adverts are being listed as requiring.
Unfortunately I doubt this exists, but that would give a very good outline of what is in demand, bit as the author says, you should really tailor your own certification path.

Looks like another PR article from someone who has probably not taken one cert on the list...

I've got 5 also, and have decided not to take any more certs for the foreseeable future.

Damn straight. The A+ is a fantastic cert for beginners, and I think that perhaps reading that will deter people from going straight in at MCSE level. Or trying and failing. Ha.

    Certifications: Triple A+. Network+, CCENT
