the 600 series has been retired in the us and canada, I believe it was February it is only the UK that still has it until August.

So unfortunately you will have to start again.

I was hoping for a video tutorial on the new exam,
Maybe like train signal and cbt nuggets makes,
I know they have the old exams but they are dated now,
Guess i will have to find a good book then,
Do the new exams never expire like the ones? Thanks,

if you pass before december 31st you will be certified for life however if you pass after that you will have to recertify every 3 years if you want to keep your cert.

Those who get certified by December 31, 2010, will have a certification that never expires. Those who get certified on or after January 1, 2011, must renew their certification every 3 years.

EDIT: one minute too late! :D

I found this just now looking around on CompTIA site,
    CompTIA Certification Renewal Policy Clarified,
Current certificate holders remain certified for life; renewal requirement applies only to certifications earned on or after January 1, 2011
Individuals who become certified in CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ by December 31, 2010 also will be considered certified for life,

It is August 31 (I believe) for UK folks to pass the old 60x exams before they retire. It is December 31 for a lifetime cert.
