Had my 70-284 Exam today. Final mark "FAIL". :(
Found that the training CBT nuggets did not give enough information to answer the questions correctly for the real life configuration scenerios.

    Time to try again
If anyone nows some good test exams for this it would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Welcome to CF! :biggrin

The best test prep software that I have ever came across is the Transcenders. They are pricey, but well worth it. 8)

Welcome aboard. Sorry to hear you failed the test, better luck next time. Try and think of it as a learning curve. At least next time you will be more relaxed (you will know what to expect) and have studied for longer.

What you need is a good book or three. I haven't studied for this exam but I know Exchange is a complex beast. CBT nuggets are okay as a supplement to your studies but they are not enough (as you now realise) to pass the exam alone.

Transcenders are good test prep software. IMHO they should be used *after* you have read two or three decent books on the subject. Studied in depth all the various related white papers you can find available on the Internet. Got serious hands on experience with the product. Gone through any labs personally that are included in the books or the CBTs.

Then start practising any free tests you can find. Then buy the Transcender and be prepared to be humiliated. Drill down into the Transcender references, especially on the questions you are not sure about.

If you do all this, you will pass the exam the next time.

    Good luck!

I took 70-284 and 70-285 last year, they are hard but fair exams. As far as resources for studying go I used:

    Sybex 70-284 Study guide http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...1918419-5175134

    Tony Redmond's
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...1918419-5175134

    and this from Microsoft
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...1918419-5175134

    and frequenting sites such as

http://www.slipstick.com/exs/index.htm as well as the Technet Virtual labs at:

    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tr...b/exchange.mspx

I would also recommend trying to get hold of some instructional videos - they are often listed on ebay.

As far as the practical aspect goes hooking up a couple of machines would suffuce, play around with things like routing groups, admin groups, policies,OWA etc and you should be ok -

Let us know how it goes...
