    A job opening has occured for an entry level systems engineer, here's a brief job spec i've put together. If anyone is interested please let me know.     Job description

    Job title: Systems Engineer (Entry Level)
    Company: Large telco company (top 5 in the world)
    Report to: Technical Manager

    Main activities:
    ******* provide a range of technologies to the Financial Community. Your role is to support these, our Customers and our Business from pre sale, through implementation and into Service mode.

    You may be joining us as an inexperienced engineer with a steep and challenging learning curve, but you will have a defined career path towards becoming a fully qualified Voice Recording Engineer. How long this will take, will depend on you. Expect to work hard and learn fast

    You will focus upon the voice recording solutions and its related technologies, your key activities will include but not be limited to the following.

    • Customer Demonstrations

    • Solution Design Support

    • Solution Staging, Commissioning and Provisioning

    • Proactive Maintenance Services

    • Fast Issue Response

    • Systems administration

    • Remote Monitoring

    • Installation of Software Updates and Upgrades

    • Solution analytics and performance monitoring

    • On site cover where appropriate


    Skills and competencies required :

    Must have a minimum of 2 years relevant implementation experience and providing high-level customer support.

    • Experience must include working at a various customer sites but which may also be from internal IT administration
    • Preferably will have experience in telephony, hardware and databases.
    • Must have good servers knowledge Windows 2003, Windows 2008, must posses or be studying towards: MCITP / MCDST / MCTS
    • good understanding of SQL.
    • Hands-on hardware skills include ability to replace hard drives, connect/configure components, working knowledge of CPU, etc.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Some CTI/CDR knowledge (Cisco/Nortel/Avaya) is beneficial (Not a must).


    Behaviours and Attributes: Must be willing to self learn and willing to share knowledge and experience.

    Miscellaneous: (work enviroment, others…)
    Shift Rota working to apply (8 hours between 07:00 – 19 :00
    24/7 cover on call out where qualifications permit
