i've been studying the 2004 version of sybex's MCDST

my question is, since 2004 has the MCDST course changed or been revised?

just want to make sure im not studying out of date material

    Cheers

Umm... XP SP2 isn't covered in the 2004 version. Installing SP2 can mean changes to certain settings.

I haven’t done the MCDST but if SP2 is covered then you should know about some of its features such as Windows Firewall and wireless improvements.

As stated above the sybex book does not cover SP2. The MCDST exams have many questions related to changed settings and security in SP2.
I'm not saying you need to restudy by any means. Just know what SP2 brought to the table, such as windows firewall, and pop up blocker.

I have the MS press books for both MCDST exams and they cover SP2 and come with a free trial of Windows xp pro SP2.

    They've done a 2006 version, I believe.
