So with the MCSA 2003 out of the window(s) [pun intended] there's no possibility of finishing it and then upgrading, so it's straight on to the 2008 certs for me.

Before I spend an hour or so trawling through the curriculum lists, to establish a rough idea on VM's, what has everyone else used that they found successful ?

I'll be running them locally in Virtual box on my machine, CPU, RAM and multiple spindles are not an issue

The 2003 cert is not dead just yet, another member steveh2001 called MS and was told that "the MCSE 2003 is still viable for the near future (without the need for 3 year retakes) and when it is retired, there will be 1 years notice."

Ah the joys of MS providing two different sets of information - it's just like their tech support :)
