found this course whilst looking for some thing totally unrelated whilst browsing the other day

    http://www.bteccomputerengineering.co.uk/

like the sound of getting a BTEC qualification, and seems to be genuine.

what are your opinions?i want to begin my IT career by getting into the whole tinkering and fixing computers and installing software, security etc.

am about to start an A+ as well using a home study course with cd-rom and also use the mike meyers book.

know somebody who has a lot of old pcs and spare parts he sells fairly cheap so that i can do proper lab studies to compliment my learning.

would the above 2 courses and the fact that i would have kind of hands on experience look good on a CV?
would i need anything else to break into my career choice path?

    thanks :biggrin

By the sounds of it what you are looking to do would look great on your CV. 8)

Looks interesting. But you *have* to buy the course material from them. There appears to be no option for self-study and take the exam in the manner that CompTIA do.
