im doing pretty well at college but this week has gone over my head i just cant seen to get this binary to hexidecimal thing.

this is what the teacher has showed me so far is it right can anyone help me out on this?

    100 =

    128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1
    1 0 0 1 1 1 0 0

< sorry the numbers dont seem to line up after i submit
    then 8 4 2 1 8 4 2 1
    128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1
    1 0 0 1 1 1 0 0

    = 8 1 8 4
    would that be 9D?

he then went into letters which is where i went into double vision and lost it .

am i correct up to now and if so where do i get the letters from in the next step , if not where have i gone wrong please any help apriciated.

Yeah mate thats right, basically if I can remember back to college you have
128.64.32.16.8.4.2.1 (Second number is half of the first)
    ..1...0..0...1..1.1.0.0

You add up all the 1's so basically 128+16+8+4 = 157 (If I can add late at night)
So 157 is represented as 10011100 in binary?

Say you wanted to represent 189 it would be:
    128.64.32.16.8.4.2.1
    ..1...0...1..1..1.1.0.0
    (189-128 = 61) CANT TAKE 61 FROM 64 SO MOVE TO NEXT (61-32 = 29) (29 -16 =13) (13-8 =5) (5-4=1)

This took me ages so hope it helps lol!

    If I remember rightly
    cant remeber hex mate sorry
