Starting a MCP

    hello,

    I have a B.S.c in computer networking Ive been told at my work i can get a pay raise when i get my MCP can someone advise me on how go go about it whats the best exams to start of with?

    As grim says, it depends on your job role, and area of work. I take it you ditched the CCNA idea then?

    Why dont you take a look at the MCP courses listed on the MS website (although the MCTS courses are really supposed to take over from them - so perhaps look at those too), and discuss the options with your boss. That way, you can both agree on a course that best suits your role, and one that you will find interesting.

    IT support within a call centre everything is microsoft. Xp and server 2003

    Have a look at the MCDST :)
     
    Certifications: A+, N+, MCDST, Security+, 70-270

    If you're not looking to go for the A+ or Network+ first, then I'd suggest 271 and/or 272. The first is to do with supporting users running XP, and the latter is to support users running apps on XP.

    Yup... spot on. The 70-271 and 70-272 exams would give you the MCDST.

    Technically if your boss only wants you to get MCP then you only need to do 1 exam. If you do both then you get MCP and MCDST.
