i had to reboot a users computer as it was sluggish, and so i did...

2000 screen came up, she logged in and about 12 mins after that it finished loading, the poor lady did not have spyware or crap loading, so i thought what the hell took it so long (at that time i was faffing around with someone else), i checked her start up folder and blimey, she had 8 applications in there!

the reason the call was logged was she suspected she had a virus on her machine, nope it was clean, i removed those items, and told her to open them up one by one when she needed it, so what the first thing do you open when you login to to pc (home / work)

First thing I always do is check the BBC News site, then my emails for replies to posts here.

 

I usually get up around 7am log-in and check me emails which then lead me to CF to see how me mates are doing

 

well get up in the morning and go to work. Come back turn on the comp, pop open the firefox, outlook, msn 40 min later, go out and chill with friends.

 

open IE so I can check on tech unity, and then turn on my IM so I can get my morning messages. I know I have one waiting for me every morning from my mommy.

 

Well i log on once ever few weeks when i actually need to reboot my PC for something
MSN, Skype, uTorrent et al are auto start, first thing I usually open manually though is Firefox with SessionSaver so all my last tabs pop straight back up and i continue where I was at
followed by Outlook 2007 for sorting out my day/week/month

Followed obviously by WoW or EVE or maybe some music and work stuff

 

That should be a *µ* (Micro) µTorrent matey boy

 

Web browser is always my first port of call!

(I use webmail!)

 

I always open Firefox and msn messenger as soon as i log in.

 

Email every time!

 

MSN is the first program that auto opens when I log in on both home and work machines, at home I then open IE7 and starting my usual surfing and looking about for torrents, then its WMP11 for watching stuff I have downloaded (since I dont have a TV and we are like 9mths behind USA for programs)..at work, I open up IE6 and then Outlook and then get me work done...

 

indeed it should pete, but i was in a rush to leave (on a course at EMC tower all week) so didnt want to go fiddling

haha theres chinks in everyones armour mate, especially mine! i'm suprised you couldnt find a bigger one

 

Usually IE into my student web site, e-mail then a wee gander to see whats happening in CF.

 

pc never shuts down tbh.. always dloading crap for the kids (they have their own pc but cant download on it as I dont trust em lol)

but in order of loading up....... irc, email, firfox then msn now and again as I usually get harrassed from my admin days as a gaming website mod

 

Outlook then FF at work and FF followed by Guild Wars at home.
