I've always liked ST games (well most of them), but MMO's is a different story - never really liked them (but ST: Online may change that). I hope that there won't be a monthly fee, at the moment they are still undecided...

Went to see it yesterday and loved it.

They've got it just right - faithful to Star Trek but not too obsessed about what it is supposed to be.
Enjoyable to fans and newbies alike.

The characters/casting was genius without exception, but the guy that really stole the show for me was Bones.

    No.
The green chick who was her room mate - wow.

See, that's something for the faithful - Kirk has to snog a green chick.
    Or blue...

    Bones was indeed awesome

    I was a Fan
    but not really of TOS
I was born in the 80s and by the time I got into TOS it was totally dated for my tastes, compared to the cool shiney TNG it just didnt stand a chance (although I did watch some of the TOS movies and enjoy them)

This movie is awesome, they have already green lighted initial work on a sequel!

I doubt ST:O will be free in all fairness, but for me the cost of a MMO is redundant, too many people compare it to 'other games' that cost x but can only be played till they are over, with MMOs and complex end game content they last literally 'years' and for the price of 3 beers a month is too much for some then these are not the games, but the money it saves me doing other stuff (I'm an impulse buyer) works in my favor for the most part ;)

I literally just came back from the movie and although I never followed the StarTrek series this movie is definitely amazing... like it's very funny and packed with action, great acting, etc... I will definitely buy it on DVD when it comes out..

Not to reinvent the wheel, but I wrote a review of the movie on my blog. Top notch, with a few "technical" errors.

The only thing that grated very slightly was that I felt that, given how few lines he actually has, Chekov's speaches had a certain 'forced' feeling to them. The writes obviously sat down and made a list of all the comical words that he couldn't say and then mashed them into sentences.

Come on, it's the future - you're one of the brightest cadets out of star fleet academy. You know that you can't pronounce 'v' or 'w'. So don't call them 'vessels', call them 'ships'; don't say 'velocity', say 'speed'.

And don't put 'victor' in your password. Twice.

    :biggrin
