I brought my first coffee maker about a week ago. A cheap 10 dollar one. :biggrin

About 2 1/2 weeks ago, I started craving coffee out of the blue. I've never been a coffee drinker neither have my brothers. After 9 months in my mothers womb we should have had enough coffee in us to last a life time.:ohmy

I called my best friend and told her about the strange craving. She said come on down I'll make you a nice strong cup of coffee then you will be over it. Well no that didn't more actually made me want more. So I came home. Next day wanted some more. I held out, the day after that I had to buy a dam coffee maker filters and a small can of maxwell lite (half the caffien) And something called french roast. Well I liked the lite so the french roast is still sitting in the closet. However I've gone though that can and went and bought me a big can of the lite. The weird thing is that I want it in the afternoon or nite. Not in the morning. I don't even think about it in the morning at all. I actually woke joe up one night because I got the craving about 11 at night so I made half a pot full. I didn't think anything about the smell waking him up. :biggrin Joe told me this was not a habit I needed to start now after going my whole life with out. Which I told him I knew that, but if he touched my coffee pot I would not be responable for what would happen to him while he was sleeping. 8)

lol. Sweet, sweet caffeine addiction. I was told it was a prerequisite for a career in IT :) I'm just glad I don't live in the States, otherwise I would have rotted away my teeth drinking Rocket Fuel and Bawls. Plus, I would prolly sleep even less than I do now!

Tell Joe if he touches your coffee pot you'll give him a caffeine enema. And you won't let it cool down first :blink

All you have to do now is become a connoisseur of ‘life’s elixir ‘ and I do believe that means its got to be strong enough to tar roads.

And would you have any suggestions for a brand or flav? I really have no idea. When I was growing up there was reg and decafe. When I looked in the coffe lane I was like holy crap. There is a hazle nut, hazle nut with vanilla(which does not even sound good) Columbia roast. French Roast and so on and so on. I just want a freaking good cup of coffee. And don't get me started on the creamer. I was stupid enough to try one called blueberry cobbler. That sent me running for the can.:sick It would seem coffee just isn't a drink anymore. It is like the freaking army. Its a way of life.

Josh and I like Starbucks Breakfast Blend. They had it at our old workplace... along with House Blend (which was OK), and French Roast. Did we like French Roast? Wellll... we called it "French Roach" if that tells you anything. :p

Starbucks is ok. My personal fav is Peets but it's kind of pricey and you can't get it just anywhere. There's a brand that my wife gets at CostCo that's pretty good. I like "full bodied" coffees so French Roast and Sumatra are favorites for me.

Creamer is for sissies. I don't know why you want to put creamer in coffee. Also, I've never been attracted to lattes or any other sort of Starbucks stuff. It all seems like dessert. I just want a good cup of black coffee...no frills.

Thanks for that tip Mike, I've seen the breakfast blend your talking about but was worried it might have a lot of caffien in it. Do you know if it does? And to be honest, I've still been boycotting SB since that one in NY refused to give water out to the police and firedept that day on 911, unless people had money to pay for it.

No idea... I just know it tastes gooood. :)

For the record, I believe there is a decaf version of Starbucks Breakfast Blend... but what's the use? Caffeine is sooooo gooooood...

I'm a true caffeine addict. I once extracted caffeine from tea leaves in Organic Chemistry lab... then spilled it in my lab drawer. After it dried to a white powder, I could *smell* the caffeine in there! Oh, heaven! :ohmy The only things keeping me from licking the bottom of the lab drawer were because there had obviously been other chemicals spilled in that drawer... and my head was too big to fit in that little drawer. Oh, the self control I had to exhibit to keep from putting my finger in the caffeine and licking it...

...sorry, I totally sound like someone needing a fix... where's my coffee cup?

Tea leafes straight into the cup blend better than bags you just cant drink the whole lot unless you like a mouth full of stcky tea leafes, try tea with syrup just a dab mind you its really nice.

Drinking tea black is supposed to be good for you although I just couldnt do that.

While i don't like the taste of coffee i do love the smell. Takes me back to when i was a kid, There used to be a little coffee store in Sheffield, just of the moor, and you could smell it for around 500yrds away!! Was lovley, and me parents used to get thier fresh ground from there.

I don't drink much tea either, prefer soft drinks (I'm a Coke addict!) but when i do its usually soem form of chinese green tea, or else one of two otehr options. Normal tea with 4 sugars and milk or tea black no sugar no milk... one extreme to the next! 8)

I didn't force the South Americans to sell their coffee to Starbucks... hold out for a higher price, sell to another company, or grow a different crop if you're not making a "living wage".

To be honest, I prefer Coke as well... when I drink coffee, I have to doctor it up with creamer and sugar or Splenda... yep, to those coffee snobs out there, I admit it: I'm a wuss. :p
