    noo don't do it!

the most important thing to own when you shoot with a DSLR are lenses, and the small brands just don't have a large selection, get a canon or nikon, but spend the majority of the cash on actual glass, not on the body

bodys come and go, but glass will last till you drop it

That was one of my worries at first too, but when I started reading reviews I found that the Minolta Maxxum lenses works with this camera too. So I figured I would have enough choices with both of them combine?

I appreciate you looking after my best intrest ryan, and you are right, most pros are shooting with nikon or canon. However, I would just be entering this arena and for the enter level that this camera is out it produces just as good as the others in it class but it has a built in image stablizer which will save me money in the long run on lens, plus they are saying that the lens kits that come with the sony are better then their competiton. It had a couple more things too that the reviews said are usually only found in the higher priced slr. If by chance I turn out to be good at it and can earn a living from it, I will probably move up to the big nikons then.
