I finally, after over a year of unemployment, have got a job!

Working for a large local(ish) company as IT Administrator, reporting to the IT Manager (who has been supporting the systems on his own for two years).

The company has recently implemented VMWare ESX servers with Server 2003, Exchange, SQL 2005 and XP all running as guest OSs.

Some learning to do I think!

But it is great to see that after over a year of unemployment, you carried on to reach your goal and employers saw past your unemployment record and recognised your abilities.

How did you find this vacancy? it sounds like a job I'd love.

I put my CV on a zillion job websites (in this case jobsite) and it was found by a recruitment agency. They contacted me and asked if they could put me forward for the job. Of course I said yes, and after an interview with the IT manager and a follow up with the Financial Director I was lucky enough to be offered the position.

What I didn't know at the time was there were about 20 other candidates!

Anyway it's good news and gives me hope.
