    Hi all,

I have just completed a DR Inventory of my companies server room, >100 servers but still no fun. I was wondering if anyone knew of a product that is like MS SMServer but supports a wider range of OS's. at present my company uses servers with whatever os works best for the application, we also have novell netware 6.5 edirectory that kind of thing, we have various servers with linux on it some with w2k3 and some with w2k server plus a couple with just xp pro and would you believe it I found one chugging away with win nt 3.51 on it.

Does anyone know if there is a systems management solution that would support all those os's plus not having AD.

    Hi all,

If anyone is interested there is a product called zenworks asset management that fills the above. Luckily we have purchased it and we are getting training on it soon!

LANdesk is good-ish asset management tool!

Netware is great, now that I work in a true AD environment I really miss Netware...stuff like permissions taking effect straight away without having to log off/on and Salvage is what I miss the most!

Have you heard of an app called Newt? its what we use at work but I dont know if it has support for Novell, you would have to give it a try or read up on features.
