The patent system is very broken. It allows people to game the system so badly that it really hurts innovation and business. One small company has decided it won't just deal with patent trolls even though that might be the cheaper route to take initially. They decided they will not be bullied and are fighting back.

We need more companies to take a principled stand and not just pay off because it's cheaper and the patent trolling will come to a stop. Make it risky for a bully and and he will stop bullying.

From some of the reports I have heard in recent times, patenting does seem to be getting really out of hand. Especially software patents and those that don't represent a physical thing etc... Good to see something is being done about it.
