Just to answer that last post SimonV(on the still rollin topic)
The school actually runs three networks at the moment. The pupils stuff is two rm networks, one 2.4(based around NT4) and one newer cc3(based around 2kserver). The other network is the admin which is pure NT4 but is linked to the 2.4 rm :eggface (confuzed yet!!!). Alltogether about 250ish clients I think, 1400 ish student accounts, 100ish teacher accounts + admin and odds and sods  We got specialist status this year and are doing quite a lot of upgrading in the near future(two new rooms upgrading old 2.4 to cc3 and a new cc3 server coming online) I really want to get this network managers job and get down and dirty with the network and all the new stuff :P

Will try and keep postin on this and mcse exam progress as I`m sure its riveting stuff

Must go and make up baby`s bottles now :)

Sounds like you'll be having some fun over the coming months, you'll never guess but we also got specialist school status for science only a couple of months ago and the exact same thing is happening here.

There are plans for 2 more computer rooms plus I'm in the process of upgrading to W2K on most of the curriculum side of the network.

I've got my interview on Friday of next week so lets hope we keep on this similar path and both get the job :D

How do you find working with the RM kit, that was one of the first jobs I did when I started was to get rid of the RM stuff as it was too restrictive and installed a W2K server network. :whatthink

We've got some RM stuff here. My personnal opinion of the Company can not be printed here, suffice to say I have as little to do with them as I can. Saying that, have you seen their "All in one" pc's. We are using them and they are not too bad. Very small foot print with a flat screen as well.
