I've recently started a Master CIW Web Site Manager Course with Skills Train [Scheidegger]. I've read various posts on various sites which mention that the certificate isn't even Nationally recognised. They claim that the Skills Train Certificate that you get [once you complete the course] is recognised throughout Europe. Can anyone shed light on this matter please? Thanks.

Is this an in-house 'CIW' course or THE CIW course? :blink

Website Manager is one of the certifications offered by CIW.
You don't see it as often as Master Designer, which is often regarded to as 'the' CIW course.

Just a quickie. Sent off my first TMA for Web Design Manager. Am I supposed to get a written progress report back? All I got back was the CD I sent and 2 envelopes???

    Hi Jo.
Shouldn't you be asking your training provider this?

    Jo

Yes, you should receive a typed Progress Report giving details of your right & wrong answers. I'm not sure about you getting a CD back , as it is far easier to sent it to their server, and they get in virtually instantly.

About 7 days is the longest, that I have had to wait for my report back. Was it a practical TMA that you sent in?

    Hope this helps

Sorry, I've posted this twice now...

What exactly is a Sheidegger certificate? Is it equivalent to something like an A+ N+?
I've been in the industry for a while and have never heard of it.

I guess the important thing is not what the piece of paper says, but what skills you learn whilst achieving it.

    Sounds like...
But as long as it is teaching people something useful!
Every cert has to start somewhere.
