Hi All,
Just had an "interesting" talk with the other half at this late hour and it seems I do study too much, its not just me that thinks so. . . .

Its been a busy year this year, no holidays to speak of, a lot of pressure in and out of work and a killer study schedule. To cut a long story short my family have had enough of the late nights, revision days and hours in front of my laptop at home, and so have I to be honest. I wouldn't normally put myself under so much pressure but my current employer . . . . I won't bore you with that.

Instead of moaning about it I've cancelled CompTIA Project+, dropping all 685/686 study (but may sit the exams to try my luck) and moved 70-294 to this coming Friday morning! Watched CBT Nuggets twice, skimmed MS Pressbook, experience from work and playing with my virtual lab setup at home.

I really hope I can pass this exam because I need to get some form of social life back and spend more time taking my family out and about. If I pass, only 298 to do and as I sat the official MS course for that back in June I'm going to try my luck sitting that 3 weeks later I think.

I'm off to bed now, my eyes feel deep fried

Thanks fellas. I only started with my employer 4 months ago but all of their Team Leaders that run teams like mine have their MCSE hence them being on my case. I think its just a box they like to tick to reassure our clients but they have linked it into my annual bonus I'll get next year so the incentive is there.

I've told my girl if I pass this exam friday it could only be 3 more weeks of this then she'll have me back for good. I can't blame her for saying something, I've been a shadow of my former self this year. She understands its something I have to do but when you are living with a study bore like me it mustn't be much fun. Not long left keep telling myself, stay focussed

On another note, 11 weeks until Christmas!!!! Hope you all been saving

 

Dropping the two Win 7 Betas, going to concentrate on my two remaining MCSE exams then my WIP will be solely family time. Thanks for your advice all. James

 

Good call to just focus on the remaining exams for the MCSE. It can drag on if you look at different exams etc.

Once done you can chill.

Sat 294 at 9am and . . . . . . . . . . . FAILED!

To say I'm gutted is an understatement. Scored 623

44 Questions in 150 minutes and 2 labs. I know where I went wrong, I worked until 2am last night and by the time I got to my Prometric, I was already half an hour late due to traffic and the car park being full, meaning I had to walk from quite far away.

I'll probably sit it again in 2 weeks but right now I can't be bothered reading or doing anything. I'm off today so gonna get some beers in and have a go on Operation Flashpoint to chill out, feel really stressed and disappointed in myself, and whilst I don't mind paying for exams, paying for resits winds me up (I'm starting to realise as I have failed 3 now!).

Thanks very much mate but I don't know why Think I'm more gutted becuase I was looking forward to winding my stupid amount of studying down. . . guess a few more weeks won't hurt

On a different note just spoke to my boss who told me I don't have to get my MCSE this year to ensure I get a better bonus, as I had initially been lead to believe, mine and my teams work is enough this year

Once I pick myself up I'm still going to finish it this year now after all this hard work.

 

I've got 5 days left mate so gonna make sure I get some good rest/family time in. I love lazy games + beer days, have to have one soon, its been ages. Thanks mate

Ah thanks Ken, Yep, might of failed 294 but got an Doctorate in being a good dad ha ha I know I'm lame!
