Has anyone else been playing with MS Silverlight?

I've been beta'ing it for a while, and it is awesome.
Never got that excited about Ajax etc, but this is way cool!

We use silverlight on our intranet to draw the sales graphs (bar charts only mind). Looks really good.

Bit of a reversal here though, we got really excited about AJAX cause it has changed our web apps completly, now we can stick some XAML in they are looking really good

It is being hailed (by Microsoft, one would assume) as being a 'Flash killer' - a totally new way of putting rich media on a website using a cut down version of .NET.

It has support for multiple browsers and multiple languages. It is also fairly easy to use when compared to the newer versions of flash.

    Early days...

I've played around with it, and I was really impressed. Silverlight 2.0 looks as if it will be even better, as it will be more tightly integrated with the .NET framework and WPF.

They do need something to replace flash because it sucks and can be very annoying.

Interesting article in this month's PC Pro.

Silverlight is still 'optional' on even MS sites, but how long before it is a requirement, and who will be the other uptakers?

In development, other than MS, it's hard to find others who are rushing into this.

But quite agree, we need an alternative to Flash.
