I have passed my MCDST, but as i have no IT job i find myself not "keeping my hand in" on the computer front.

Im thinking of upgrading my MCDST to the Vista upgrade, shoild i concentrate on finding an IT job or maybe start studying for the upgrade?

I'd concentrate on finding an IT job and then carry on cert wise, as experience as am sure you know is very valuable. Keep looking and something would come when you least expect, best wishes:)

Maybe the A+ might give you broader appeal to any potential employer.

See here :) After the A+, if you're still looking for work, have a look at the Network+ :)

Mike Meyers: All In One Guide (Sixth Edition)

Best selling to my knowledge, and easy to follow, comes with 2 discs, and you can pick it up for around £20

Oh yeh, this may be the only book you need to pass, but PC Technician's Street Smarts is also a very good book to buy when you are half way through :)

extra book or two is no problem, as I feel the broader opinions, and preference on terminology is evident with 2/3 books by different authors

I agree with all of the above advice: concentrate on finding an IT job, begin your A+ studies, and use Meyers' A+ AIO 6th. :)
