Service pack 3

    My PC keeps trying to install servace pack 3, Im quite happy to let it, but the install process gets half way through and and cant go no further due to errors I didnt write the errors down as there were heeps of them, the install has failed three times so far, Justy wondered if enyone else had this problem.

    it could be anything.. how about maybe getting some of the errors first? And im assuming its windows xp?

    No i haven't, but my next step would be to download it manually and try and install it in safe mode. It's probably a 3rd party application that is running in the background preventing it.

    Do it manually from windows update.

    Don't forget to nake sure you disable any AV products you have as they can play merry hell with an sp install

    I had the same problems with SP3 failing to install.

    It turned out (in my case) that there is a hotfix that prevents it from installing. Have a look through all the installed updates for KB925877 and if its there remove it.

    Sorry I havnt got back to anyone, been a bit busy, Ill try and manually install as sugested later tonight, sorry again for not getting back to this post earlier.

    Have you got enough space on the hard drive? Machine at work had that problem
