    Hi,

I had to opt for self study for the n+ and i guess all the others exams i wanted to study for as the college i studied at closed down suddenly due to financial problems. I want to know is it possible to self study for the n+, security +, MCSA, CCNA and CEH qualifications. And what kinda jobs can someone get with a+ and n+?

    Thanks!

Firstly yes it is possible (and a hell of a lot cheaper) to self study for any certification. All you need is a good sense of motivation and time management.

Just remember that certifications are a way of showing that you know your stuff, you should get certified on the things you are working with, they are not a magic key to a job.

Certification + real world experience with the technology is the key!

Certificate + no experience = piece of paper.

    Hi nazeey,

    bluerinse is spot on,

You have to spend somewhere, if you are on a limited budget, self study is the only option.

The first thing is to make sure that what you study is something that interests you as well as being something you want.

get those two it gets easier. Life may get in the way.

Good luck, Make sue you know what you want, then go for IT.

Well...the right hardware and software would help. For the Network+, it would be useful to actually have access to a hub or switch (switch is better) and find as many ways to network computers as your imagination and you budget will allow.
