Second Monitor for my macbook pro?

Thought it had a hdmi port but nope.. what are my options for getting a second monitor attached? any form of converter cable I could use to allow use of my hdmi monitor?

Use Displayport port on the macbook?

 

All I have is a thunderbolt port so I guess I need some kind of adapter

I thought the MacBook Pro's also had a HDMI? I guess it depends on the age of the one you got.

 

Yeah I bought a thunderbolt to hdmi lead which arrived today so will give it a spin later to see if it works.
