Just a little bit of information for students of Scheidegger/ Skills Train regarding the A+ exam payments.

I am just going to book my exams tomorrow following phoning the head office for details.

They have sent me details of contact numbers for either Pearson Vue or Prometric. I contact them and set up my account, arrange exam time and take exam.

Once reciept for exam is recieved i send this to Scheidegger/ SkillsTrain and they then transfer the appropriate funds back into my account.

The exams are £105.00 each, so £210.00 for the core and o/s.
I thought this was the total cost but VAT is added aswell so the total cost for the two exams is £248 if i remember correctly from the top of my head.

I hope this clears up any doubts for anyone that was unsure as i was unclear myself.

We covered this in a thread a little while back but I can't be bothered digging out the link even tho I posted in there. Been a long day and I'm too damn lazy.
As Weemez says, Scheidegger/SkillsTrain will pay for your A+. When I took mine, booked it through Prometric (No VAT to add on), I know they cover the costs but why pay out more than you have too? Printed both my reciepts off from the Prometric website and sent them to Scheidegger (recorded delivery of course. Cynical? Moi?).
I believe its the Luton address you need to be sending your receipts in to but I can't find the recorded delivery slip to check right now. Within 2-3 weeks, you should receive a cheque. Thats's how long mine took and the letter it came with said "Travelling expenses".
Good luck with your exams by the way Weemez!!

Thank you Lord Deckard, i will certainly be letting you all know how it goes if successful!!

I wonder why your VAT wasn't added, Pearson Vue are the only testing centre in Inverness so i'll have to stick with them, my only worry is Scheidegger only pay the amount less VAT, we shall see.

Just one of those vagueries I'm afraid. Prometric don't charge VAT, VUE do... So long as you've got your receipts you shouldn't have any problems at all but I would definitely recommend sending them via recorded delivery so if something does go awry, at least you'll be able to prove that they made it to their destination.
I was talking with another forum member, Darrenecm, about the reimbursement back in march as I think he was with Scheidegger as well. Notice he's not been online recently so I don't know what his experiences were.

    Hi d4nsco,

I cant comment on the CCNA as i have just completed the A+ section with my Core exam this coming Thursday. As far as the A+ has gone i have no complaints. Assessments marked promptly, enquiry's met my needs.

It the and of it i was offered the option of hans on instructor led training at a local site but i didn't bother as i am pretty familiar with what is covered in the A+ anyway but its good to know those options are there. This is also a big part of the CCNA i understand with live labs included but i cannot give an opinion on the CCNA yet and havn't heard any.

    Good luck.

    Hi to All,

VAT is not applied to any exam if you book it yourself direct. VAT is applied through a third party as they have done you a service.

Look on both VUE and Prometric and book your exams online.

This is subject to who's paying. If you are being reimbursed for the total it does not matter, but as an individual, keep it in mind.
