  • 640-821 INTRO exam and 640-811 ICND exam or
  • 640-801 CCNA exam
• Used Boson ExSim(s) for the CCNA

Any other comments, questions, or opinions welcome.

Which Boson ExSim(s) do you feel led to your becoming CCNA certified?

Wouldn't getting all three be a good bet?

It may not only help you pass the exam but improve your understanding too.

The first reason is the obvious one which is cost. All three would cost me $129.95. ExSim #1 and ExSim #2 cost $59.95 each. ExSim #3 for some reason costs $79.95.

The second reason, this is purely based on the demo set of questions but:

1. ExSim #1 seems to have mostly online references to explain why you got the question wrong. Online references such as from cisco.com, microsoft.com, etc.
2. ExSim #2 seems to have references to the Cisco Press Exam Certification Guide. As you may or may not know, the Cisco Press Exam Certification Guide has an Exam Simulator CD included in the back cover. Current list price for the "CCNA Official Exam Certification Library (Exam #640-801), 2nd Edition" from Cisco Press is $59.95. So if I need to obtain the Exam Certificaton Guide as a reference for the Boson ExSim #2, that would be rather redundant for Exam Simulation as well as more expensive.
3. ExSim #3 seems to have references to a "CCNA Cisco Certified Network Associate Study Guide (640-801)" by Richard Deal, published by McGraw-Hill/Osborne. Currently, according to Amazon.com, that book is listed at $32.99.
