Replacing DVD drive in Acer Aspire 8730ZG

    Hello,

    Does anyone know how to remove DVD drive in laptop Acer Aspire 8730ZG, I opened the DVD drive withe a paper clip but I cannot find the screw(s) that holds the drive.

    They are usually held in place by a screw or screws on the bottom of the laptop.

    It's different for each laptop mate so without diagrams it's hard to say. Usually there's a few screws in the bottom of the laptop and one anchoring screw underneath the keyboard which holds the drive in place. As an eg, it could mean taking off the screen to be able to take off a top bezel to be able to take out the keyboard..

    If you don't feel confident taking apart your laptop, I'd suggest giving it to a friend who is.
