Greetings, neosoft82. Welcome to CertForums. Glad you like the place. The MCSE is actually a series of Microsoft exams and it takes years to master all of the technologies involved and achieve this certification. You will need hands on experience with the desktop and server software to get much beyond the first exam or two.

Please visited our Microsoft Certification forums. I think some of the threads there will help bring the MCSE into perspective. Hope we can be of assistance. Cheers. :)

Hi Wale and welcome to CF you've come to the right place for help with certs. As Trip pointed out the MCSE does take years to do as it's at least 7 exams to get the cert. You might want to consider doing the CompTIA A+ or Network+ first as these are good certs to start with.

I want o thank yall for the warm welcome. sure gives a sense of belongin.Let me paint a beta picture. If u were to be a support staff, do alot of monitoring of Network Performance and giving alot of help desk support to all users, Would u really advice an MSCE certification on there is something else one could consider. Another thing, for an IT novice who wish to build a career in Network and System Adminstration, Is truely compTIA A+ and Networks + the ideal certs. tks....

As far as delivering tier one tech support, probably A+ and Network+ certs would be good. An MCSE would basically be designing and administering (ideally) enterprise level networks.

Oh wow Wale. To throw yourslef in the middle of MCSE with no other exp is to make things alot harder on yourself than need be. Start with A+
    http://www.certforums.co.uk/forums/f29-.html
    and N+ first.
    http://www.certforums.co.uk/forums/f30-.html

Work it, eat it, sleep it. When you can do that stuff on a computer without a second thought than you will be ready to move on. Besides, A+ and N+ are fun to learn and everyone here is to help. :)
