    Register for Beta Exam 71-686: PRO: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Administrator

    You are invited to take beta exam 71-686: PRO: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Administrator. If you pass the beta exam, the exam credit will be added to your transcript and you will not need to take the exam in its released form. The 71-xxx identifier is used for registering for beta versions of MCP exams, when the exam is released in its final form the 70-xxx identifier is used for registration.

    By participating in beta exams, you have the opportunity to provide the Microsoft Certification program with feedback about exam content, which is integral to development of exams in their released version. We depend on the contributions of experienced IT professionals and developers as we continually improve exam content and maintain the value of Microsoft certifications.

    71-686: PRO: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Support Technician counts as credit towards the following certification(s).

    1. MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator, Windows 7

    Windows 7 itself is all you've got to study.

    Why would there be any materials for this exam yet? It's not yet live.

    Question:
    Why is the exam 4 hours long? :blink Does anyone know how many questions there will be and/or if simulators would be a part of the exam... 4 hours man! I can get to the other country in that time!

    Alot of Microsoft's beta exams are 4 hours long, they have alot more questions than the finished live exam. Saying that, that doesn't mean that you have to stay for the full 4 hours. I never have.

    No, I booked the exam via the Prometric website. You could ring them if you want to book it.

    :oops: found them, I could of sworn they weren't there yesterday


    Quick question could you book both exams in one day but overlap them? Say one exam starts at 10am and the other at 12:30pm?

    I fancy doing them both to get a feel for the exams and content and if I pass then it's a bonus.

    You could try, not sure. I did try to book a 4 hour exam into a 2 hour slot and I was told that wasn't possible.
