I did a search on google and on ebay and most of the time I find PS2 clone joypads, which has a terrible position of where the analog sits :(
    However, I did find this:
    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/pc_gaming/gamepads/devices/292&cl=gb,en

Its seems to fit the bill, doesnt have force feedback. logitech do have one with feedback but the joypad is a annoying floating d-pad:
    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/pc_gaming/gamepads/devices/264&cl=us,en

although I can live without the feedback, Can anyone recommend the above list or is there something better?

The logitech 360 pads are quite good I had one those, but the PS2 ones suck my mate had two and they were rattley and clunky and also not comfortable in the hands.

I looking for one for the PS2 I would recommend getting the 360 one and one of those converters that lets you use it on the PS2.

If its for the PC get the 360 one as quite a few games now support it, like BIOSHOCK

I did get a converter to convert for a ps2/gc or dreamcast. and it was doing weird stuff with the analog view with Sonic DX. And I tested it with all three controllers and it was having issues on all the controllers.

Plus the drivers are odd, I tested the converter with and without the drivers and it wasnt closing down the apps :ohmy

so thats why Iam looking to get either pc usb controller.
But your right GBL, the logitech 360 pads look tasty :biggrin

Yep but I have also used both the PS2 ones for the xbox via the converter and the other way around PS2 ones didn't work well but the 360 ones did.

With the XBox controller on PC does the analogue joysticks work for the mouse look?

I have this game pad by Saitek P2600 Despite one of the joysticks stating it's used for Mouse look in FPS games it's total Pants!! In Call of duty or Halo or UT2004 you get shot to pieces by the time you've looked around the screen with it!:( Talk about snail's pace.

I was thinking of buying an xbox controller because like so many of you I prefer the PS2 style game pads. Rather than using a keyboard and Mouse.

So does anyone know if you can use both of the Joysticks on an Xbox controller for movement and mouse look?:blink

Just looking at those links you provided Mallet....Hmm they look a lot like the saitek ones? Have you decided which game pad you are going for?

The 360 controllers work perfectly on graw2 and BIOSHOCK apparently you can get drivers to make other games playable.

Yep that's what saitek offers for call of duty and UT2004 but it's pants:( I still have not been able to get a decent gamepad/controller that has a better/faster player look around than the mouse. It's just doesn't come close and instead find myself using the game pad in one hand to move and shoot with the mouse to look around the screen in the other.:(

Its not faster but I think its the same as the mouse sensitivity, but I am sure you can increase it too.

I do have to say though, there will always be games that can only be controlled well by a mouse.
