Recommendation: Alternatives to Dyson

I've been looking at this but wondered if anyone knows of a good alternative or if Dyson are the best. It's for light use around a small flat. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a dyson, its great, it does what I need to do

I also have a Vax carpet washer, which are a must, no matter how powerful the hoover, you will still get crap up with the vax.

The shark hoovers look decent to be fair, never tried one though

 

It still amazes me how much crap it lifts. You think nah, my place is clean, then you do a once over with that and you realise you life has been a sham.

 

Henry Hoover is the way to go had Dyson's before and the Henry beats it every time

Thanks for the tips folks. It's good to see there is healthy competition as Dyson had a monopoly for a while. I've heard good things about gtech but not much about the Shark. Actually there's a Vax which is 32V in power which looks good. A lot more power than the Dyson and other competitors.
