Sometimes it's nice to be on the other side of the fence :D :

    07/14/2008 02:11:06PM Agent "Hi Simon"
07/14/2008 02:11:10PM Agent "I understand that you had to wait in the Queue for a long time because of high chat volumes. We apologize for the delay and assure you that we are taking steps to fix this. Let me go ahead and resolve your issue quickly."
07/14/2008 02:11:13PM Agent "How are you today?"
07/14/2008 02:11:51PM Simon "Hi. Very well thank you. The machine we purchased sometime ago has just been switched on, but we are unable to boot it up correctly."
07/14/2008 02:12:13PM Agent: "I regret the inconvenience caused."
07/14/2008 02:12:16PM Agent "I will do my best to assist you with the issue."
07/14/2008 02:12:18PM Agent "Before we proceed, may I have a telephone Number to update our records, please?"

07/14/2008 02:14:56PM Agent "Simon, is the first time you are trying to switch the machine on after you have received it?"

They did, Sparks. Using the live chat, they ask for the tag number followed by name and e-mail. It tells you what system you have, but left out the OS.

Ahhh, thought it might have told you what the OS was.

Slightly off topic but why did you have a PC with Ubuntu on it? Ordered by mistake I assume :biggrin

Perphaps it does inform the technician the other end, but i don't recall it being displayed on the confirmation screen.

He he! We have a Splicecom Call server which runs on a *nix OS. We needed a machine with a flavour of Linux for the call recording software, and a certain company sell them new with it on.
    Shame it doesn't work. :D
