just wanted to ask if any of you have used any freeware for real time screen capture as part of documentation or tutorials to show how a task is done via mouse clicks and cmd line functions.

    if so, any recommendations?

    thanks.

When *real time* was mentioned I assumed it was for capturing over a certain time line, compared to a screen dump.

Is that what you were referring to toko?

I also assumed that it was to record a particular time frame with movement on the screen. I use Camstasia Studio 2 which works out fine.

    thanks for the recommendation guys...

thanks for the screen dump advice - thankfully, i do know how that button works.

i did mean capture over time as opposed to snap shot like a screen dump btw...

    cheers...

On pre-2000 PC's I've used the Screen capture software in Lotus Smartsuite, on 2000 and above PC's I've used Camstasia Studio. But then again they aren't freeware :(
