Windows hangs at the "it is now safe to turn off your computer" message. Which file could you rename that might offer a way to determine the cause of the hang?

    A) IO.SYS

    B) LOGOS.SYS

    C) MSDOS.SYS

    D) SYSTEM.DAT

    I'm guessing [HIDE]A) IO.sys[/HIDE]

    But it is a guess.

[HIDE]What is LOGOS.SYS? is this just a fake file added in for the sake of it?[/HIDE]

[HIDE]Hm - I've heard that this can be caused by a bad logo file, so I'll go for that. Option B.[/HIDE]

[HIDE]Well I am not sure but I think, from memory Logos.sys is the actual screen image that says "It's now safe to bla bla" I remember changing the wording in paint once.

So, maybe what Boyce is saying is that if you re-name this file the OS will halt because it won't find it but I am at a loss as to how it would help diagnose a hang.

Also, one questions whether this is a hang. The OS has shut down and it is now safe to turn off. Hmmm, I would have been happy with that prior to ATX systems.

    Answer B :blink [/HIDE]
