I am now officially a domain administrator!

There's sooo much to learn - it's scary and crazy, but well exciting (can't believe what a great chance this is)

Been asking my current manager to give us a lesson a day on something until he leaves - feel bad as he's leaving his baby , but he gonna do really well - he's capable of so much...meanwhile we gonna work hard to take good care of everything!! We had a good teacher and we gonna do our damndest to keep all nice and smooth!

Thanks, the role is going to be shared between me and a colleague (until we eventually mold our own roles - which will still over-lap from time-to-time when someone out of office)who has looked after the back-ups and other things when manager away in the past, which is extremely handy - looks like it'll be a case of us sharing knowledge and learning loads of new stuff together - s/b challenging - will certainly be calling upon you guys a bit more!

 

Unfortunately not - the role has come about because the company are having to cut costs and our IT manager, along with a few other peops are leaving / made redundant...

May have a mini rise, but money ain't everything - this is a fantastic opportunity to get loads of experience...

At the moment - with my experience, qualifications, not many people would take me into a new company to do this particular role - because we (me and my colleague who is sharing the role)know this company and have been here a while now, they are kind of giving us the job as a "trial run" and I see it as a great chance to increase knowledge and show what we can do....then, once we've proved ourselves worthy, we will pester the boss for a "proper" pay!!
