    Yeah! Got offered a promotion at work this week from helpdesk to SQL report writer, career's finally going somewhere!
    Get a pretty useful rise & a car with the job too! 8)

    Good timing too as I was on the verge of leaving after 16 months on helpdesk.

    Although, having spent a couple of years as a DBA... my experiences tell me that, unless you really, really want to go down that route, you may end up chewing your fist off in frustration/boredom after 12 months of it... :twisted:

    Still, DBA experience looks great on your CV and who knows - you may even like it!

    Nothing like getting promoted just before the end of the financial year too huh? :p

    Thanks all, really chuffed with it. Will start on March 5th but I think they're going to push some stuff my way next couple of weeks to ease me in!

    Do enjoy the DBA stuff but then SQL's the only language I really know (although i'll need to learn HTML for this job) :biggrin
