What's the longest you've ever taken to complete a project? A proper project that you've set out to create and achieve (eg a cert) not a thing like a mortgage, which most of us will have dangling around our necks forever :)

Some of the longer serving members of CF (we're talking when I first joined here, about 7 years ago) I was touting the draft of a novel I had (finally) started working on. I hope the mods won't be too peeved at me linking, as I've finally finished the bloody thing.

www.gracesoffadedangels.com (In the Dying Eyes of Night (The Graces of Faded Angels) Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store)

This is quite literally the realisation of a childhood dream, and I have literally been jumping for joy on and off tonight! So if any of you like fantasy fiction - well, why not try it.

For the rest of you - what's your dream, how long did it take you (or do you think it will take you) - do you think life will just keep getting in your way? Technically, from conception to publication this took 13 years! Although a lot of that was obviously spent being unable to progress it, still... 13 years! ha.

Well done! I'm still in the aspiring stage, lots of ideas but no meat

As for projects I think my longest current one is just over a year old. Another hobby of mine is fountain pens and the multitude of inks available. I've been intending to do some comparisons specifically between blue & orange pens / inks - this started last February... and still hasn't got much past the selection phase. Guess I should stop playing Guild Wars 2 :)

Amazing, congratulations. Being published has to be one of the best things ever. Something I too have always dreamt of, well done.

If it is anything like "Zombieland" then I will take a signed copy.
