For easy configuration we use VMWare for our lab environments. A few months ago we created a new environment and tested it. Everything was working flawless, except for the sound. The sound was very dim and we could nor increase the volume.

    What is wrong here?

Generic sound card drivers must often be used for virtual environments. Same with video cards.

I agree - I'm not sure whether Michael got it right, or whether in the example they had already loaded the general drivers.....

No, we had used generic drivers, but the volume was still low. We always use these drivers and normally there is no problem. Now the volume was low and stayed low.

2 GB. The funny thing is it had worked before and as far as we could see nothing changed. Obviously something did change.
    What?

Can we do 20 questions? If so, first question is: Is it hardware or software? 8)
