I have been preparing or the OS exam for about a month and half. I have gone over all the chapters of the Mike Meyers book for the OS exam. I scored over 80% on the practice exams that come with the Mike Meyers book that only have 80 questions.
Tried some practice tests that contain 475 questions and found myself knowing the answer to most of the questions about 2/3 of the questions I answered correctly. Then I reviewed my incorrect answers, found the answers and explanations and memorized them. After that I thought I was pretty much ready. But after that I went through the A+ OS exam objectives domain by domain seeing if I could fillin the areas of each domain with the right information. When I found I could not I decided to begin reading the book over again and filling in the sections of each domain.
What do you think of this idea? Am I over preparing? Any suggestions?
    Please help!

Looking to finish by mid November

Prof, only you will know when you are ready and I must admit that personally I never felt ready to sit an exam, mainly because I really detest the experience.

When you have absorbed all the info you can and you feel like you are going over the same old thing but not learning anything, that is probably the time to go for it. However, the only real test is the actual exam itself. You will know soon enough if you have not prepared sufficiently

If you're happy that you are getting over 80% on practise tests everytime and you feel you know the material then it may be time to take the plunge and book the exam.

It's also important to understand how/why the correct answer is chosen. If you understand the logic to the answer, it will help you identify blatant wrong answers and help you work out the best answers, especially handy on the random questions they love to throw in every now and then.

    Best of luck

Prof, I find that it helps me to mark what I think is important in the book while I read. At the end of each chapter, I go back and write down everything I have marked. I found that if I write things down it tends to stick in my head better, plus I have notes to read over while I'm cooking, soaking in a tub, eating breakfast. Plus you have something to look over the day of your test. Make sure that you look at the A+ objective at comptia to make sure you know and understand what they have put on the objectives. I don't know anyone that ever feels like they are truly read to sit a test. I personal become physically ill before I use to take one even though I feel like I'm ready to take it. Good luck!
