    Hello all.

Found these forums when searching for info on certification.

    Looks like a good resource.

I'm 37 and looking at making a career change into the IT industry.

My preferred direction is more towards technical support as I enjoy problem solving and getting in to how things work. Or don't.

I hope I have a realistic idea of entry level jobs and pay, and thats ok with me. Surely £100k + is enough to start with ( joke).

I'm looking at maybe doing some training with New Horizons in Edinburgh, and the route I figure to take is probably A+ N+ CCNA MCSA.

    All opinions gladly received.

    Welcome to CF!

Whilst I cannot comment on New Horizons training the route that you are considering persuing seems a good one.

    :)

welcome, japanese elvis. peculiar name for a scotsman.

i can't really help you with new horizons. i noticed on their site that they claim to be the world largest it training company. whatever. never heard of them, but then again, i'm all for self-study.
your cert route looks okay, although the mcsa seems like a bit of a deviation. just take it one step at a time and try to find a way to get hands-on experience. you'll do fine.

I'd like to tell you it's a long story, but it's not.

It's just a daft name, and a pseudonym I often use.

Thanks for your messages, I hope to be around for some time.
