you need to install php. :biggrin
documentation can be found on the site. specific docs for iis config are here: http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.windows.iis.php

keep in mind, php runs best with apache (web server software), and apache runs best on linux. going for php on a windows box (with or without apache) is possible, but not efficient.

Depends what your using as your home server as i don't know. ;)

If it's IIS then i believe php files aren't supported however you can get a plugin etc and make it all work fine. I wouldn't recommend this if you aim to use MySQL etc and would say use apache.

Your best bet is to get XAMPP - http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html

XAMPP includes Apache, PHP, MySQL & FTP Filezilla Server etc all configured and ready to use!
