could anyone reccomend me some courses and books that teach you the basics of repairing and upgrading computer hardware?

A+ would be your first port of call, Mike Meyers books are easy to read.

 

As well as the Mike Myers book, I can also recommend Scott Muellers Upgrading and Repairing PCs, 19th edition available for less than £20 on Amazon, if you're interested
