Just barely though. I got the minimum passing grade. The study materials that I had were more geared to the 2002 version of the test. Even the Sybex book that is supposed to be for the 2008 version is just an update of the previous version.

The most helpful information I found was in one of my textbooks that I used for getting my AS degree in Infotech Security, http://www.amazon.com/Security-Guide-Networking-Fundamentals-Second/dp/0619215666/ref=sr_11_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1231962982&sr=11-1, although I found a glaring mistake on the Public Key Encryption, where he said you use your private key to encrypt and the recipient uses his/her public key to decrypt.

My weakest subject is cryptography and certificates. I also hate memorizing ports, and fortunately , this time there was only one port question. The test is pretty intensive, with only 90 minutes for 100 questions, but I had time to be working on reviewing my marked questions ( about a third of the questions I marked), when the time ran out. Some questions really seem more for Network+. Since I have never worked as a Sysadmin, I feel that I was at a bit of a disadvantage, but at least this time I finally passed.

Good luck to everyone taking this test. It is NOT easy! :thumbleft

Thank you Michael! I am taking a class in Project Management right now, so I am looking at possibly going for Project+ next. I looked at Boson, and it does not look like you folks have test prep for it. Are there plans for Project+ in the future, or is it not that popular a cert? 8)

No, it's not a popular cert at all. Useful... just not popular. We'd probably never break even on development costs.

After we finish Security+, I'm quite sure we'll be tackling Network+ next... either of which would outsell Project+ 100 to 1, if not more.

Ah! Thanks Michael! I will save my money for another more popular Project cert then! Actually, I will probably be going for Six Sigma Green Belt next, since I am taking that course in the second mod-mester this term. 8)

Well, in the grand scheme of things, none of the project management certs are popular. Compared to one another, I'm sure that certain PM certifications are more popular within their circles... but worldwide, there aren't enough people doing the PM certs to make a dent in sales.

That is odd, since I have seen a few job postings that are looking for certified Project Managers. I noticed that in the UK it seems that Prince2 is very popular, but until I looked into the Project+ board here, I had never heard of it. So it might be that there has not yet been the shakedown to establish what cert is the industry standard, or at least the worldwide standard.

In the meantime, if I cannot find a cert that would be beneficial in finding a job, it is probably an expense I cannot afford. :p

Sure, there are job postings looking for certified PMs... but compared to the number of techs out there, there really aren't that many project managers, worldwide... and only a percentage of them are going to get certified... and only a percentage of them are going to purchase study materials... and only a percentage of them are going to buy practice exams... and only a percentage of them are going to buy OUR practice exams...

...and that's why we wouldn't make a profit on creating them... especially when we'd have to create 2 or 3 different PM exams to cover all the options out there.

If I had to guess at which PM cert is the most popular, I'd probably say the PMP.
