I took the test this afternoon and passed it - barely. :biggrin

Two pieces of good news in one week (the other being a new job) is a bit more than my system can cope with at my age. :ohmy:twisted:

Thus endeth my diversion from the MCSA path. Next target will probably be 70-270, but that will depend on what the job requires.

There were a pile of acronyms, but many are common to IT generally, and I found that I was able to pick the rest up quickly. But very few of the questions I had on the test dealt with acronyms. However, someone else may well find things different, so don't take this as gospel. (I don't think I broke any NDAs here, but...)

What was difficult for me was remembering how the various phases and departments (Service Management, Change Advisory Board, etc) interacted with each other, because I have no IT managerial/supervisory experience to provide a background for all this.

The ITIL was mainly a means to broaden my knowledge and give me a wider perspective on the IT field. Overall, I think it succeeded, even though I am not likely to need it in the near future in 1st line support.

    Congrats on the pass

Acronyms etc can be dowloaded for Free try www.thegreymatters.com

If you are 1st line then I suspect that you will hear a lot of V2 phrases like Incident, Problem, Change etc

Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you and why not the version 3?

I did it over about 3 months, though that includes a couple of weeks off over the Xmas period, plus I didn't do it intensively. As to the v2 versus v3 issue, I checked on Prometric before starting my studies and could only see v2 on offer for Service Management.
