Passed my core hardware today, scored 762 (is that good?).

Head now buried very deeply in o/s material. Seems a bit more to take in.

Well done! Yes, it is good. I think that each person is different as to which is the more difficult.

Best of luck with the OS! :thumbleft

If you passed then the score is good enough. Congratulations. Good luck on the OS section.

    Agreed.

I'm just a little confused by the whole scoring thing.

I understood the pass mark to be 80%, but I can't quite see the relationship between that and a pass mark of 515 :blink

Ultimately you are right, I'm just glad to pass. I should be concentrating any mental energy I have on the o/s stuff rather than trying to decypher the marking methods!

It's the way Comptia scores their tests. The best possible score on an A+ test, if IIRC, is 1200. However, a person can answer every every question correctly and get less than 1200. The reason has to do with the difficulty of the questions, and not all tests are of equal difficulty. I got something around 990 or so on my test hardware test and I missed two questions. I scored about 1050 my software test and missed 2 questions once again. So, the ultimate score and the percentage of questions answered correctly aren't directly related.

I know of one guy who aced the software test and he didn't score any higher than I did and I missed two questions.
