Hi Everyone,

Took my 2nd A+ exam for the new 2006 objectives. found the exam a bit on the hard side, some very tricky questions on file locations. full unc paths to windows tools etc..,

Pass mark was 700, 90 questions, a handful of easy questions,but loads on laptops, diffrent types of batteries, and security, you will need to play with Windows xp pro and all its advance options/locations.

It would be advisable to have a MCSE 270 book to fill in the blanks and learn more about Windows XP Pro.

Good luck to anyone taking the new exams, this one was a hard exam!!!

You say the 2006 Objectives?

Did the exam still cover win 98, ME 2000 and NT?

Or have they dropped the older version of windows?

The new exams do not cover any irq's or address nor do they cover any old OS's they start from Win 2000 pro - Windows XP Pro,

Afew questions on command prompt commands and recovery console.

I have be doing IT support for a while and that helps alot, but I used gts stuff, new sybex book and went through all the objectives and research all via manly websites like wikiopedia etc..

Looking back now the first exam was very easy but you will have to step up a gear or two to pass the 2nd exam.

Thank god it's out of the way, good exam to prepare you for the MCP exams.

 

Ah the new Sybex book, I was going to order that and wasnt sure whether I should wait for others to be released.

Judging by your success I gather the new book is pretty good?

 

What Sybex book was it?
