Just a quick note to say that took the above today here in Perth, Oz & passed (well happy!!). Quite a bit tougher than I thought it was going to be, with some odd questions that didn't really give clear cut answer options.

Hard to remember the content, but it seemed more ligned to more recent material and not too much legacy stuff. Quite a bit of troubleshooting (more than the Exam Objectives sates) - have got OS in 2 weeks, and then onto to the Network+. Anyone any ideas on material for the Network+ as it has now been upgraded???

Feel proud of yourself. Feel VERY proud of yourself. It might be an "entry-level" cert but it's no walk in the park. The boy's done us proud :rocks

Congratulations on the pass, m8. Drinks all around. :beers2

As far as the current objectives for the Network+, start with www.comptia.org and look them up. One of the PDFs available should show the differences between the old and new objectives.

I did the tech editing on a Network+ Study Guide not to long ago and noticed that CompTIA is slowing integrating some Linux utilities into the exam. If you do your homework on "nslookup", you might also be wise to also research "dig".

A+ is getting harder and harder to pass. It is also the best foundation you can have for all future studies! WTG!

Thanks for the feedback - without a doubt the best Cert forum/site I have seen over the past 2 years. Have been going to do this exam for that period and just kept mincing about like a right tart (bit like Roy Keane), but just got stuck into it whilst on a trip round Oz.

I used Sybex material which I definately would NOT recommend to anyone (David Groth must be the MOST boring writer I have ever had to endure). Am going to look through the site to see what other material/authors are recommended for the Network+ & 270 MCP which are the next 2, though I am tempted by the Linux+ - thanks again!! :blink

Sorry so late but congrats Jester! :D

Mike Meyers is the way to go for A+. But I loved david groth for N+. Has been a couple of years since I've study for either of these so I really don't know if someone come out with better and more interesting material.

Again Congrats on the pass. :cheers :slidedrin :thumbleft

Mitzs is right in that it is Mike Meyers for A+ (he sucks at Networking sadly, since he is a fun read) and David Groth for Network+. The Sybex books may be dry, but they cover the objectives well. I highly recommend them for any of the Cisco or Microsoft or CompTIA tests. If you want to see truly dry and boring, nothing beats ExamCram! Good luck on your further studies! Network+ is a great cert to get, as it is recognized by both MS and Cisco as meeting an elective towards some of their certs. :biggrin

Only muckin' Tyler D but you have got to admit that Gerrard is the TOP player of thr Prem, and that your club is at the end of its cycle. This is something I know a great deal about. If you require any help over the ensuing YEARS to deal with this I have an ebook for sale at £3.50 uk (about the same as the UTD Share price)!!!!... stop stop I must not turn this into one of those sad 606 message boards. Because of the great support and that I want to remain part of this forum I have decided to do the right thing & replace my AV with the other greatest sportsperson on the planet at this moment (aka Mr ROSSI) as it would not be fair on you to be looking at that BIG grin on Gerrards face with every post I place!!!
    :hahaha :joker

Yeah Stevie G is a TOP player but he is the only one you have :D
Anyhows as you say lets not turn this into one of those 606 message boards,we could go on forever with this debate.
Just roll on August and let the games begin :thumbleft

I like the new AV mate and I agree that Rossi is the man of the year but is still only the crown prince to the real king, Mighty Mick Doohan.:D

BTW, whereabouts in Perth are you based? I come from South Perth/Como area.

:thumbleft No probs................... I read in a thread that you are using Computeach in Dudley. Just wondering if you have heard of Sitec who offer free/subsidised training on various Comptia and MCP quals. They are based in Manchester, http://www.sitec.org/. I originally did the 70-210 server 2000 course with them but for various reasons didn't get to do the exam.
