Congrats on the pass. What study resources did you use? I have been reading the Official MS Press Book, but have been reading bad reviews, and there is a whole KB on it with tons of errors.

    Fab score well done.

As everyone else has said....what did you use. I've just started with Don Poultons book because I read bad things about the official book.

thanks all! i used the ms press book, there is a lot of errors in it, most you will notice as you do commands that dont work! i also watched professor messers videos. I was lucky enough to to get my first it job doing a pc renewal which involved rolling out windows 7, in total i think i deployed 350 new pcs/laptops so got a lot of knowledge from that. all i will say is explore features like rdp and what sort of things you can configure. i failed this last week but now i got my head round the wording of questions and done plenty of practice tests i mastered it yersterday! Another thing i sort of ignored was the server side of things, i.e wsus. i was a bit naive and didnt think we would get questioned on this sort of stuff but i did so just be aware!

best of luck to you all

Completely agree, the MS Press Book is sending me to sleep, but at least the Professor Messer funky intro tunes wake you up! :D

the 70-680 book is very boring at times, and i agree pro messer helps to reiterate certain subject and make it go in easier. a 20 min video can help with 50 pages that doesnt go in properly!
    good luck to you all

That's my current method of study. Read the Chapter from the MS Press Book, and then watch the associated videos on professormesser.com - I seem to pick up so much more from his videos. The man is a legend!

Prof messer's vids are the way forward. Not sure about the "CBT nuggets" vids though. Downloaded them and watched a few, but the guy hosting it doesn't explain things very well. Definitely picking up a lot more from a 20min video with the prof than 1-2 hours with the book.

Congratulations on passing 70-680, I finally got around to taking mine today and found it had quite a few questions that i really struggled to answer.

One question in particular (which sadly i can't reveal what the question was due to the usual non-disclosure clauses) had only one "correct" answer, yet two of the answers were effectively identical! - luckily i got the right one.

I found this to have been the hardest, longest, most time-consuming exam for me yet - having completed 70-291, 70-290, and 70-270 back in 2010..... or maybe i'm just getting old!

    Edit:
Forgot to say, I mostly used the Microsoft books for this (and drew upon several years experience) but I certainly wouldn't recommend ONLY using the microsoft books - and i'm sure there were questions that aren't adequately covered in the books either.

Random, noob question here - but does this make you MCTS qualified?
