    Hi there,

My main c: drive disk is running short of space (90mb free), and I want to partition, getting space from my D: drive.

Can anyone recommend a cheap partition software that will help me resize partitions?

    Thanks

Although there is stuff like partition magic etc available why would you need it ? I would of thought far easier to back up everything or ghost it then ensuring its NTFS create the partion from within windows using disk manager or am I missing something?

Sorry, I want to resize D: partition to give space to C:

I don't think Windows 2003 Disk Manager allows it.

    You might need this.

Never used it but heard good things about it.

    Thanks for the advice.

I'm not sure how reliable it is with Windows 2003 server. Would need a few more recommendations, before I'd attempt using it.

I've used http://www.partition-tool.com/ many times, the free version, do a chkdsk /r before you run it though, i have had it fails a couple of time during the resize and you will lose all data on the partition it is working on if it does.

I've tried Partition Assistant, and the server edition may work for you

    Hi,

What Raid level are you running your C and D Drive. We had to use Paragon Server Edition as it was on a Raid 5 setup. But it was a look easier then backing up the server formatting and reinstalling O/S, all 3rd party software, reconfig Exchange and then rejoining 30 uses back on to the domain.
