Probably the only thing that you might contend with is that browsers like IE7 won't be addressed, but the majority of the content will still be sound. For the most up-to-date material, you can visit the author's website: CreativePro.com and have a look at the tutorials.

The reviews on the book are very good overall, so I think it will be a real asset to you.

Cool - Congrats on the good buy.
Hopefully it works out for you. I'd hate to have to see a picture of you with no hair

Actually, I"ve been reviewing HTML Dog: The Book. That's not really the official title, but the website www.htmldog.com came first. I know HTML reasonably well and can kloogie my way through a fair amount of CSS, but in pursuing a more defined set of skills to improve my career options, I found it necessary to go back and reinvent my knowledge in a more professional way. The book presents the concepts in a pretty straightforward manner, using the website for illustrations and using my own websites and style sheets, I can deconstruct what I did and discover *why* things work (or don't) the way they do.

The book (and website) also spends a great deal of time on accessibility, particularly for the vision impaired and how to use HTML and CSS to make a website more easily interpreted by screen readers. I'm also starting to take a more in-depth look at Information Architecture for the World Wide Web as a macroview and a goal in terms of building skills so in essence, I'm looking at learning through both ends of the telescope.
